1962 she collided with the carrier USS Kearsarge in fog. Her hull was repainted white in 1965, when she was transferred to full P&O registry.
1986 sold to Japan for stationary use. 2001 sold to China, refurbished as theme park. 2004 caught in gale and heeled over. Many attempts to salvage failed.
