Step 6a; What About the Ship?
There wouldn't be much point in going to all this effort if the ship's bow was to sudenly disappear under smudgy lumps of sky and beach.
Time to return to the Lasso Tool then. Using this tool, I will select an area that runs down the line of the bow, almost to the shore, then back around to the left and upward to create an enclosed area that contains the bits I want to clone over but excludes the ship and the spray ahead of the ship. Once again, select a clean area of sky and clone away, over the enclosed area until all the unwanted bits are gone.
